At LASIK Experts in Plymouth Meeting, we know how important your eyesight is and how frustrating it can be to live with less than perfect vision. That is why we are dedicated to helping patients find vision solutions that improve their lives. For patients seeking vision correction who have been told that laser vision correct isn't a good option, there may be a better solution. The good news is that Dr. Shah at LASIK Experts has an option that will offer you exceptional quality vision! It's called the Implantable Contact Lens (ICL). Over 1 million procedures have been done world wide and copious safety and efficacy data has been published about this in medical journals. Visian ICL can be a great option for patients with very high prescriptions. Forcing high prescriptions to be treated by LASIK isn't advisable especially when better and safer options like ICL exist. This is a technology that corporate chains like Lasik plus and Laser Vision Institute simply don't offer. We simply don't believe in "one size fits all" mentality of some providers.
The lenses used for this procedure are similar to small contact lenses that, instead of sitting on the surface of the eye, are placed inside the eye. Once the lenses is in place, the lens cannot be felt, cannot be seen by the naked eye and requires no maintenance other than a routine, annual visit to your eye doctor.
The first step in the ICL process is a consultation with a member of the LASIK Experts team to discuss your eye health, vision goals, and map your personalized treatment plan.
LASIK Experts is dedicated to staying at the forefront of vision improvement technology, and we are excited to offer the Visian Toric ICL. The advanced technology of the Visian Toric ICL makes it possible for a wider range of patients to take advantage of the convenience of vision improvement with implantable contact lenses. The Toric ICL greatly expands the field of vision correction options for nearsighted patients who have astigmatism and are not a candidate for laser vision correction procedures such as LASIK
General requirements for good candidates are those who:
Clear, crisp vision is possible with Visian ICL. There is very little downtime needed after the Visian ICL procedure. You will need a friend or family member to drive you home, and you should plan to rest the remainder of the day, but patients typically return to work within 1 - 2 days. We will schedule you for a follow-up appointment the day after your procedure.
